Dear Members of the TC Community,

I am delighted to share that this year Teachers College has once again tied for 1st overall as the nation’s top Graduate School of Education according to U.S. News & World Report. This year's results reflect the progress and hard work of our entire community — our faculty, students, staff, Trustees, alumni, donors, partners and friends — to build upon TC’s living legacy for social justice and lead true change across scholarship and service.

This distinction speaks to the strength of our community, our work and our mission. Our research continues to be recognized for making an impact: we ranked third for research expenditures among the top ten ranked schools, with an increase of 3% over the last year. Six of our specialized academic programs are once again ranked in the top ten, and are preparing fearless scholars and practitioners who will join TC’s legacy in creating bold solutions for problems of today and the future. Among the top-ten ranked schools, TC also continues to prepare the highest proportion of doctoral graduates, who go on to pave the way as leaders in their fields.

While the rankings only reflect a fraction of what defines TC or any institution, I am pleased with our continued success, and remain confident that our sustained pursuit of TC’s strategic priorities will further advance the impact of our research, scholarship and practice at TC and beyond.

This milestone is once again the result of commitment and collaboration from across the TC community. I am grateful for your support and dedication to Teachers College, and your important work to make the world a better place.

Warmly,
